Exploring Colombia
Colombia is the only country in South America that has coastlines on both the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea. It is home to the Cano Cristales – the “River of Five Colors". Located in the Serrania de la Macarena province of Meta, the river’s bed changes color between yellow, green, blue, black, and especially red, beginning the end of July and through November. Colombia's capital, Bogotá is the third highest Capital in the world. It lies atop the Andes Mountains with 2640 meter above sea level. In second place is Quito in Ecuador and in the first place is La Paz in Bolivia. Colombia is on the 2nd place with the most national holidays. In total, they have 18: 12 Catholic and 6 Civic holidays. On the 1st place is India with 21 days.
